For our sixth annual year (and the last we will be operating on a walk-in basis) we raised $230 and 194 lbs of food for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association! It was an incredible event!
We will be running these mini sessions a bit differently in 2018, because I just can not keep up with the demand. We had people lined up down the block, my husband had a propane heater out there for a bit trying to keep people warm but it is just too busy for it to be practical any longer. I was literally doing squats for the entire 5+ hours – to get eye level with the kids, and I couldn’t move for a week lol.
So for 2018 we will be operating our Annual Halloween Micro-Mini Charity event a little differently. I encourage anyone who would like to have a portrait of their child taken in their Halloween costume, to book in a quick 5-10 minute time slot through the months of September or October for a donation to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association (either a non-perishable food item or cash donation). You get one individual portrait, or a single group portrait for your donation.
Sorry, I have missed out on trick-or-treating the last two years because I’ve been too tired/sore after finishing up these shoots – it’s time to get back to my family 🙂 I still really love to do these, and to see the kids every year dressed up and I LOVE to raise money for the food bank, being as I have been in a position myself where I needed it to feed myself and my youngest daughter, so love to give back now that I can – so I hope that a lot of you will take advantage of this discount and get portraits of your little ones in their costumes all for a good cause this fall.
