2ND ANNUAL WITCHES COVEN SESSION

Our second annual Witches Coven Session went so much more smoothly than the first, and was just as much fun! It wasn’t as cold, nobody got stuck on the way in, and I didn’t light my hair on fire! (I did chop it off though! Assisted by the talented Christina Maria of Licensed to Hair!)

Our Coven this year was made up of;

Amanda Horning
Brianna Rae Clarke
Chantel Ploughman
Deborah Lindenberger
Jenna Murray
Jessyca Gignac
Kirsten Stevenson
Lindsey Edwards
Lisa Marie Firman
Niki Anne
and Nikki Comeau

Makeup was provided by a mix of artists as each witch was able to choose their own MUA;
Sirens Beauty Studio (who also tagged along for touch-ups and to cheer us on!)
Darlene Scharf
HeadCase Artistry
and Sarah Janvier

Every year, any previous Witch is entered into the pool unless they wish to drop out, I choose half from the previous pool, and half from a new pool of “Witches” The session is complimentary in exchange for your consent to share the images, all images are public, and you get the digitals of every image in exchange. Wall art and albums are available for purchase with no obligation through the gallery. It really is a great opportunity to meet a great group of women and get some pictures of the memories <3

This year, my husband Albert photographed all of the group shots and did AMAZING <3 There really isn’t anything this guy doesn’t do well – and I truly am blessed to be able to hand off my camera to him and dance naked around the fire with this group of incredible women. I know I gush about him often on this journal, but to have gone from the hell I endured in my first marriage to this bliss is tremendous.

This year has been especially rough, but I did not once consider cancelling this session, and I actually got some really great news shortly before the session – we will get to that in another (much deeper) post later).

I needed this. I REALLY needed this. But as much as I had fun, I still found myself critical of myself in the photos, so you will not see too many of me – but thankfully I can say I have just had an incredible boudoir experience of my own in Edmonton with Brina (and more of that later too!) and was uplifted and reignited, something I aim to do for each of my clients – and something I also really needed after these last couple years.

These experiences, and my husband’s support were EVERYTHING.

I know, too, that several of the other witches mentioned they really needed it – and looked forward to the night. I was so glad to be able to give that to them too. To help to heal their soul along with the group. It was an event to remember for sure, so filled with love and life and laughter.

Maybe a little too much laughter on my part, my exuberant snort laugh that my Aunt Shirley used to say reminded her of Horshack from Welcome Back Cotter (I will forever think of her when I laugh that hard and great).

The Witches and I first gathered as the mid October sun was still casting it’s warmth, and took advantage of the light for some individual portraits against a backdrop of burned and decaying wood, and over the frigid creek below.

Then, we sisters formed a circle, and joined hands, sealed the circle, and danced around it together.

Deborah made these beautiful Druid Lanterns for the shoot, and we walked together barefoot, illuminated by their glow, then danced around the fire and soaked up it’s warmth as the sun started to disappear.

We caused a bit of a ruckus with our smoke grenades, supplied by Rocket Fireworks, as they were noticeable from Supertest, we were only at the creek. I guess some were thinking alien invasion, or strange gas leak. Someone else commented “hubby thought they were doing crazy things” – I was currently banned from Facebook so couldn’t comment on the post lol damned censorship.

Well, her hubby wasn’t wrong 😉 We were dancing in our lingerie, and then out of it around the fire. Bringing the heat with the smoke grenades, and then once again forming a ring, stripped of our clothes and all abandon dancing basked by the fire and the light of the moon. Some of these black and white silhouetted type shots are my favourite ever my husband has taken and I definitely want this cover shot of the girls on our wall. I can not wait to see some of these in print on metal! <3 ugh, he did so damned good. The girls were unreal. The night was everything. We most definitely raised Hell, and formed forever bonds.

Until next year, Happy Halloween!
